Space Engineers v1.200.029 Deluxe Edition + All DLCs Without me having read any specs for the stationeers linux server yet naturally. Something like the soon to be released LattePanda Alpha would probably do nicely. A moderately recent 4 core i5 CPU with 8Gb of RAM. Wouldn't require too much in the hardware department I can imagine. Hell, if you sit on a very good internet home (10Mbps both ways or better), you could host the server yourself on a spare computer. But if you got the tech-savvy to dispense of the middle-man, there is a lot to gain. With very healthy profit margins on being the middleman. I suspect most 'Game-Server-Rental' companies just put a nice smiley-face interface onto virtual machines they in turn rent from any one of the four big cloud providers mentioned above. AWS and GoogleCloud can be somewhat, uhm, convoluted to administer but are probably the cheapest alternatives.

AWS got a year free on a Nano or Micro VM instance (to within certain limits of bandwidth used per month), whereas MS Azure and Digital Ocean are a lot more user-friendly - and I think both of these offer the first month for free. Some offer great bargains for first-time users. Your standard cloud providers tend to be quite a bit cheaper than companies renting out gameservers.

Once the standalone linux server is released less buggy - you can just spin up a Ubuntu instance on AWS, MS Azure, Digital Ocean or GoogleCloud, install server in headless mode and off you go.
